It will have to be protected if it gets cold in the winter, the pot will not protect the roots from freezing cold. Perhaps you could move it into your garage or shed. All my pots are on home made wood circles with at least four sturdy metal coasters (no plastic like on the ready made ones, they break the first time you roll them), that way you can easily move them.
