What main question? Pure acetone will take paint off. Not nail polish remover as most of it is no longer acetone. Sold at any hardware or home improvement center. Paint thinner will work, so will turpentine. Read the container carefully as they are all highly flammable.
Try a cloth dampened with warm water if it is a water based paint. Repeat until softened enough to remove. If this fails, try a carpet cleaner solution.
Be careful with strong cleaners like acetone, most carpets are basically spun plastics, they can actually melt or at least break down the stability of the fibers. Only wool is not plastic.

Rubbing alcohol will take it out. Pour some on and blot it with a clean cloth until the paint is gone.
