if so.. you CAN cut it to the ground but you don't HAVE TO.
just do a google or bing search - cuz you'll find that there is no such thing as PAYPAYA or PAPAYA grass.

I always cut my ornamental grasses back every fall. They grow back vigorously in the spring and usually fuller.
Ornamental grasses should be cut back in the Fall.
