I have a Stained bathtub that is badly stained from previous owners. It is not cast iron, but some sort of cast acrylic or something. I have tried with many different cleaners, but cannot get it "white"...……..help!

Hey Mindy whenever literally all else fails I end up buying "The Works" toilet cleaner. It really does work, make sure not to get any of it on you and definitely use gloves!

  • And chances are you won't. The previous owners did not know better or did not care. They probably scrubbed the factory finish right off by using abrasive cleansers like Ajax, comet, etc. The best you can do at this point is to try Bar Keepers Friend or a paste of baking soda and vinegar and call it a day. Either try one of the tub refinishing kits or save for a new tub. So sorry this happened to you.

Did you try Nondiluted Bleach? If yes, look for a Cleanser called: Spray 9. Get at least 2 quarts. It is like 6x bleach and Extremly powerful. Eats off paint if you use enough.
