Pease, why is my pool noodle wreath sagging?

I made a pool noodle wreath. It's sagging badly. I duct taped a pool noodle and decorated it. It seems very stiff. It's fairly large too. Is there any way to fix it without having to redo it? I wrapped it in a cut up sweater, so it's rolling back, and undoing it, would ruin it. Thank you.

Sorry, it sounds like it may be too big. Since pool noodles aren't made for that, they aren't very stable. Could you cut a large piece of foam core in the shape of your wreath and glue the whole thing to it?

I don't know how to fix it without taking it apart. If you do that, taking apart a thin cheapo (more flexible) wire hanger, forming it into a circle and threading it through the center hole in the noodle will help. Could you do that in the back between the noodle and the sweater without disassembling it?

I'm sorry I don't know of a cheap rounded wreath form substitute for a pool noodle. If the wreath is large and/or has any heavy items attached I think some sort of internal (coat hanger, commercially available wire circle) or external (cardboard, wire as suggested in other answers) support definitely will be needed. If you redo it, incorporating a support at that time will be easy vs trying to retrofit one. I made a pretty large pool noodle wreath 3 yrs ago using a coat hanger for support by undoing it at the hanger hook end, forming a circle, threading it thru, & reattaching the end to the hook. (That leaves a sturdy hook for hanging.) I used duct tape only at the join at the hook, not all the way around so it's not weirdly stiff. It still looks good! Because it is a holiday wreath it's hung up only in December and the rest of the year it's stored flat so that made have also made a difference in its longevity and lack of sagging. If your wreath hangs up year-round you may want to spring for the pricier kind of wreath form. Most craft stores in my area (Hobby Lobby, Michael's, Joanne's) have 40% off coupons you can find online so the expensive forms can be more affordable that way. And as suggested by Zest It Up, you might find a form at a dollar store (but I've seen only small ones at my dollar store.) Or you might find a large wreath at a thrift store you can deconstruct & reuse the form. Good luck!

Maybe needs a wire hanger inside it

If you are afraid of undoing it, you may want to create a stiff wire circle, put it on the back of the wreath and use a fine floral wire to lash them together (taking care to disguise the floral wire by tucking it into any folding or what not of the sweater). You could try a wire hanger to make the wire support circle, but it may not be strong enough. You could always just use a wire wreath form that you can pick up at the dollar store or your local craft store. They are super strong. Best of luck!

Thank you! Great idea. I appreciate your input. I think it was too big and stiff, so, it didn't hold it's shape. Plus, I've left it up for a couple years. So, it's sagging. I'll have to redo it. I think that old pool noodle is shot. Lol
