I used fishing line.
Yes fishing line,that's what I used, I keep some handy for numerous household & gardening uses it comes in many different weights(strengths)

Depending on weight -I would suggest fishing line, wire or kite string are very useful for hanging items.
Probably too late but a wreath hangar works well
It is suspended from an upstairs window to ground level. A wreath hanger would be pointless.
