Wall sconces are very on trend. I love them on either side of a bed as reading lamps. Here is how to DIY hack inexpensive goose necked desk lamps into DIY wall sconces.

Select lamps with a bendable neck for this project. These were desk lamps that were on clearance at target. You want something with a cord. Also be sure that the switch to cut the lamp on and off is on the lamp itself and not on the cord.

My lamps had a screw on the bottom of each base. I unscrewed it and removed the weight from inside, leaving just the green metal shell. This made it a lot easier to drill through since it just left the thin metal shell.

I then used a drill to pre-drill a hole and then drill the lamp right into the wall.

Enjoy your new plug in sconces for a fraction of the price! We ran the cords along the wall behind our headboard and plugged them in. You might want to use some sort of tape or cord holder to keep them tight against the wall if your cords are exposed.
