Sep 2, 2016 - Fear not! Removing gum from clothing is actually pretty painless. We have three ways to conquer it.
Hi Heather. My name is Cindy. You can put a couple ice cubes in a zipper sandwich baggy. Hold the ice on the gum until the gum gets hard. (a few minutes) Then scrape the gum off with a butter knife. Repeat if necessary. If the gum leaves a stain, use an upholstery cleaner to remove it. I recommend Woolite Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner. I have used it and been happy with results. Goo-gone spray
Get a can of dust off. Turn it upside down and spray directly on the gum. That will super cool the gum and make it very brittle. While the gum is still super cool remove it. For the residual stickiness goo gone Should work.

Try WD-40
I used Goo Gone on my car upholstery and it was awesome. I obtained it thru Amazon. I didn't do Chris's method. That is probably why I had to perform 2 applications.
Might be old fashion but, ice works. Freeze gum and it peels off.
Spray with WD40. Should work for you...
I used a ice cube on it ,,freeze it and then scrape it off. Ice gets it hard enough to scrape. Good luck
Hi, you can try this
Put a cube of ice in a sealable plastic bag.2
Place the ice on top of the gum for a few minutes. Leave it on the area until the gum is solid.3
Pry the gum with a dull non-serrated knife. Scrape off as much gum as possible.
Removing Gum Stains
1Use an undiluted concentrated orange cleaner to remove any gum stains on the upholstery. Dampen a cotton swab with concentrated orange cleaner.2
Rub the perimeter of the stained area with the cotton swab. Leave it for 30 minutes on fabric upholstery, and 5 minutes on leather upholstery.3
Gently blot the area with a lint-free cloth.4
Cleanse the area with a solution of 1/4 cup white vinegar and 1 quart of water.Things You Will Need
- Ice cube
- Sealable plastic bag
- Non-serrated knife
- Concentrated orange cleaner
- Cotton swab
- Lint-free cloth
- White vinegar
Tip- Apply leather conditioner to leather seat cushions after removing gum.
WarningIce cubes or canned air will freeze it too then scrape
Use a piece of waxed paper large enough to cover gum, shiny side down on gum. Use your steam iro set on low, iron over gum and ta-da, gum sticks to wax paper & not your fabric or rug. Works great for candle wax too.
I WOULD TRY THE ICE CUBES FIRST. IT WORKS. IT IS HARDER TO GET IT OFF MY CLOGS. PEOPLE AND THEIR BLANK GUM.

Your upholstered piece would be stained by WD-40. Use ice to scrape off all you can then Goo Gone to remove the residue. Might take several applications. I saw GG recently at the grocery store! But it is certainly at any hardware or auto parts store.
I always use ice ,it works real well get gum hard and pull or peel off
I'm with everybody else ice cubes, freeze & peel or scrape off with table knife
I would assume it works for getting gum out of fabric, since I’ve used it successfully more than once on carpet.
Work a small spoonful of peanut butter into the gum as you keep massaging and scrubbing it in, the protein and fat in the peanut butter will break down the gum.
Use your fingers, a butter knife, and/or paper towels to remove as much of the deteriorating gum as possible.
After you get all the gum that you can, saturate the gummy, peanut buttery residual spot with Windex, let it sit for a minute or so, then scrub with paper towels or a clean rag. The Windex should break down the peanut butter and remove both it and any remaining gum.
Comes right up with lighter fluid.
i have the simple answer its lystoil it dissolves the gum my daughter had a bad habit of falling a sleep with gum in her mouth and i use this everytime even when in her hair love this stuff its great removes paint permanent marker
I use wax paper put on gum then used low iron take some time . Looks like have a lot gum there . Just be slow with this idea worked on my pillow . Hope works
On pre-tested fabrics WD-40 is my go-to. After gum is gone, treat the WD-40 spot with Dawn Original Blue and launder as usual.
Use a paper towel and a iron set on warm, move the paper towel to a clean spot, keep doing this until gun is completely removed.
