This is a fun and easy project to use up all those small scraps of fabric and leftover ribbon you've been saving.

This project looks great during the day or night. The colors and textures look amazing!

I began with scraps of grain sack, painters cloth, and burlap.

I tore it into strips that were long enough to knot around a set of Christmas lights. The lights for this project stay cool which is recommended by Homeroad.

I began at one end and kept tying until I got to the other end.

In between the grain sack and painters cloth I added ribbon and burlap strips for color.

I even added some thick jute for interest and texture.

The lights got hung around my kitchen sliding door.

They look gorgeous when they are on and when they are off the rag garland looks beautiful!

Beautiful, easy, and a great repurpose for all your fabric scraps!

Be sure to use cool touch Christmas lights for this projects and never leave your lights unattended at night or when you are away from home.
