Make a pumpkin topiary with matching embroidery hoop pumpkins for your fall decor! These are easy to make using an old sweater and some dollar store pumpkins. This is a quick upcycle project that only takes a few supplies.

I cut the sleeves of an old sweater for these pumpkins and saved most of the sweater for another project.

Cut the sleeves into sections for each pumpkin.

Remove the stems from two small craft pumpkins and place each pumpkin into sections of the sleeves.

Stretch the fabric so that it's taut and glue the fabric to the top and bottom of the pumpkins.

Leave the stem of the top pumpkin in place and pull the fabric close around it and hot glue it in place.

Glue the stemless pumpkins together first and top them off with the one that has the stem.

Add twine between each pumpkin and tie it off into a simple bow.

I had a little trouble keeping the topiary from tilting. To solve the tilting problem, I searched through my craft stash and found a twine wrapped hoop that I purchased last year at the Dollar Tree.

I removed the ribbon and bells and was left with the twine wrapped hoop. It was just the right size for the pumpkin topiary. It’s hot glued to the bottom pumpkin.

Making the matching embroidery hoop pumpkins was quick and easy.

Use two 4" embroidery hoops.

Cut two sections of the sweater sleeve large enough to fit over the hoops.

Place the fabric between the pieces of the hoops and pull tautly.

Tighten the hoop pin and trim off excess fabric with scissors.

Hot glue the pumpkin stems that were removed from the small pumpkins to the top.

Wrap twine around the stem to cover the hoop pin.

Embellish the hoops to resemble pumpkins by adding leaves near the stem.

To give it a more finished look, wrap two pieces of twine around the outside of the hoops. Hot glue it in place.

I added a leaf to the topiary to finish it off. It's tucked between two of the pumpkins and glued in place.

Using an old sweater with ribbing gives more dimension to the topiary than one that is smooth. These can be made in less than 30 minutes and using items on hand kept the cost at zero.
