Is this a Sugar Maple?

I’ve seen this tree in a National Forest in Tennessee but I don’t know the name. I took a picture of it.

Yes it appears to be a young sugar maple. In the fall If you cut a branch, the tree will drip out the syrup for making maple syrup. The leaves turn a beauitful blazing orange/ red color. The darker red tree across the street looks like a red maple. A different type of maple tree that has red leaves all season.
