When do I fertilize in Florida?

  • Depends on the plant. Typically you do not fertilize going into a "dormant" season, but there are exceptions. And "fall" in Florida, just like Southern California and other milder climates is subjective at best. It's fall in the northern hemisphere, (spring in the southern hemisphere), but when it is in the upper 80's and low 90's kinda hard to feel it. Fertilizing is to get things to grow, so you don't want to force new growth that could be damaged in a cold snap and harm the plant.
