I have noticed both white and black mold in different parts of my home. I think I need an inspector. It may be in the walls.

Hi. Yep. Get someone out. Houses can have all sorts of mold problems from incorrect landscaping to the house being too air tight. Good luck.

  • Get someone out asap! You health is at stake, along with your family and pets, especially birds. Flip though the yellow pages or Google as to who is best in your area.

While you're awaiting professional help, try running your kitchen exhaust vent in addition to bath exhaust vent fans. Run a dehumidifier in basement set to no more than 40% humidity.

If you live in a warmer area and humidity is low, open all windows for increased ventilation, while running exhaust fans.

Check to insure than exhaust fans are not vented into your attic, or too close to house gable vents.

Check foundation exterior to insure water drains at least 10' away from your house foundation. If not, you may need French drain, Hydro Blox, or swales installed in your yard. Large trees too close to house can contribute to problem, as can driveways that slope toward your home.
