What is the best thing to do to keep my foundation of my home from sinking and shifting in the winter months when I can no longer water and the ground is frozen?

Foundation repair is not a typical homeowner DIY. If you believe you home is sinking you need to get someone out asap. I would have consults with both soils experts and structural engineers to see what can be done before the snow flies. Here is how to hire a contractor.

This is a REALLY serious problem and should be handled by a professional. Good luck!
Hi Parris,
I agree with Naomie. A sinking and shifting foundation is not a DIY project. You really need a professional. Another place you can ask for someone local is homeadvisor.com or nextdoor.com . Homeadvisor has a list of professionals that will be recommended for just about any job you have. Nextdoor is a group divided up into neighborhoods based on your zip code. There you can ask for recommendations from other home owners who live in your area. Wishing you the best!
