  • I don't see why not. I would do the three larger windows with shutters and let the smaller window kind of fade into the background.

Only do the larger windows, and make the shutters at least half as wide as the windows.

  • I agree with above, skip the small window. This is a picture of our farmhouse where we added shutters. Still lots of work to do but it made it look so much better.

  • I agree- skip the smaller window. But maybe put a window box under it? Not sure.

I would paint the shutters (maybe a burgundy color) and then put them on the windows at each end of the house. Skip the windows in the middle and paint the front door the same color. Just a suggestion.

Why paint shutters when they come in a ton of different colors. Do the larger ones , skip the single one as it will really be too close together for a set on the double windows next to the single one in front. You could paint the window trim the same color as the shutters on the single one. It would tie in the color but not be too big. Add a pop of color with a different color door.

You can purchase shutters in any color for your windows. I would do the larger ones, and leave the smaller windows. You could put decorative wrought iron around the smaller windows.

Instead of shutters, paint your trim—windows, corners, fascia—in a contrasting color that highlights them. Below are two takes on this idea. They both have Sherwin-Williams colors on them. The first is SW6475 Country Squire, and the second is SW6531 Indigo. Black would also be good.

It looks like you are still working on the roof, and your shingle color could influence your color choice.

Id just shutter the two end windows and leave the windows in the middle alone. The middle windows are too close together to add shutters. It would be to much-too busy. I like the idea of using black shutters on a white house. Then you can add some colorful flowers and edge out the flower beds with white rocks or red mulch.
