Very good step by step instructions here:
https://www.wikihow.com/Stamp-Concrete
Concrete is stamped as it is poured. The slab is pour and when the concrete is in a "plastic" stage, a release powder is broadcast over the concrete. Stamp forms are placed and pressed over the concrete. Stamps are removed and release powder is swept and gently hosed off.
I think that this particular home task, would probably be best performed by professionals - always being aware that there are so many 'cowboys' out there. I'm from Sydney, Australia. And from what I have seen, even professionally applied stenciled and coloured concrete, starts to fade so quickly, and bare patches (ie the underneath concrete) appear far too soon. I would never have stenciled concrete. Pavers are - to my way of thinking - the best choice, but again it all depends on what sort of area you wish to stencil, and what is the size you wish to cover. Best of Luck.xo
I agree with Gabrielle. ENTIRELY. And have seen these Cowboy Jobs fall apart, crack, lift, etc etc.
The only design that has staying power is between blocks.
That is achieved by a Designer Block Mould that you can Set into the Place you are Pouring Concrete to Seperate those to Shaped Blocks.
You get that Design in Concrete by Concrete between bricks with color Additive in the Cement, explicitly for between the Designer Blocks.
It is easier to make the Mosaic Design you want to last from Masonite Sheets cut to 36 or 48 pieces:
12 qty 4 inch by 84 inch each divided by 4 or 3 to yield
48 qty 4 inch by 21 inch
Or
36 qty 4 inch by 28 inch
