How do I clean grout off of my tiles?

I had a new Armstrong Resort Tile placed on my floors. After the 24hour wait time, I noticed some grout on top of a few tiles. I have called the company several times but no one has showed up to take care of the problem. I have been reading on line articles, use vinegar, no don' t use vinegar it will make the grout yellow. I have tried to call the manufacturer who keeps referring me to the installer. Can you help?

Have you tried just dampening the grout area and carefully tried to chip /scrape without scratching the tile surface? Yes vinegar will react with the grouting material (lime) and will change colour and or fizz. Call flooring store and tell them about your problem. they may be able to help you too.

    Hi Anna,

I'm Linda. Vinegar may or may not work. I use vinegar and water for almost everything, but grout is made with cement so it might have a reaction to grout. I don't have any grout in my home so I haven't worked with it for many, many years. Here's an article though that might give you some insight and help you remove it. One thing the recommend is fine steel wool if the grout on the tile is thick. That would be 0000 steel wool that you can find in any hardware store/department. Here's the article. I hope it helps you. Wishing you the best.

single side safety razors. Available at any hardware store. Dampen the grout to make more visible, and maybe softer. Mine came right off and didn't scratch the tile (but I was careful).
