A tenant left a tupperware container of brownies in her oven and forgot they were in there. went the next day to bake something and ended up with a melted mess that dripped through the shelves onto the oven floor. She was so upset and distraught, even offering to pay for a new stove. With the oven cold, I took a metal 3" putty knife and worked the blade under a corner and pried up, it popped off in one big piece!! She learned her lesson " Don't store things in your oven"

Reminds me of the episode on The Middle when the kids turned on the oven where Frankie was storing her aunt's treasured quilt.

If prising it off when cold doen't work for you. Put wet Kitchen roll tissue that has been dipped in soapy water ontop of the plastic and warm oven, with the hope the heat and steam will conduct the pmelted plastic into the paper and it can be removed.
