I love to use tea towels. If you sew you can hem them and use a pressure rod. If you don't sew string a line between the inside edge of the window and use cute clothes pins to hand the towels. Have fun with it.

Get a tension rod. Get some fabric or a sheet. Get clip on clips and some fabric bonding tape. Cut your fabric a little larger than you need your curtain to be. ( don't forget you need it wider than the opening for it to hang right ) fold the edges over, press with an iron, to keep it neat. Then lay the bonding tape in between then iron again , slowly so the fabric bonds. Then use the clips to hang. Easy no sew method.

Do you need to close these I wonder. Slot of people opt for a balance or faux blind.

I either put up a pole and hang a square table cloth over the top, angled with the point in the middle.

Another easy valance, or faux blind is to take a piece of fabric slightly larger than the width, and double the finished length.

Turn in edges all-around. Make a larger pocket at the top to fit the pole through. Then add ribbon double the length of the finished length to either side of the middle. To do this you fold ribbon in half and sew the folded edge so that it goes behind and Infront of the blind.

Then thread the ribbons through an anorak toggle on each side, this allows you to lower or raise the blind. These will cascade on a ruffle.
