I'm bringing Boston ferns indoors and need to make drip pans that will attach to their hanging containers. And ideas on what to use and how to attach them?

You can purchase plastic ones at garden centers and home stores that have "attachment arms". These fit over edge of your planter. Make sure you purchase correct "arm" length.

Thanks Oliva, I'll take a look at my stores. I hope that they will still be available now that snow shovels have replaced garden hoses in all of our stores!

oh such a smart idea to use the aluminum pie plates, I brought in some plants for the winter that I have to put on the table and didn't even think of using thoughs. And I could even paint them with spray paint to color coordinate with my pots. Great idea - Thank you Cheryl A!!

When I bring my hanging plants inside in the Fall, I am unable to hang them all. I end up putting them on tabletops and assorted plant stands.

When I go to yard sales in the Summer, I always watch for the clear glass pie plates and use them instead of the plastic. When I can find them for 25-50 cents each, they are less expensive and have a much longer use/life than the plastic. Hope you can try this. I have done this for many years.

I've made them from heavy/thicker clear plastic recyclables like cake or cookie covers from grocery/deli. take wire coat hangers cut into pieces attach one end of wire to each of the plastic or wire hangers where it is attached to planter.take plastic container turned up like bowl and set planter inside (appropriately sized to match planter size)plastic bowl, then where ever coat hanger wire is hanging down from plant hanger poke small hole into plastic lid with hot nail or awl then put each of the wires hanging down from planter thru holes you've made and bend them to secure them. You can really use anything but these plastic ones are clear so when you water hanging plants whether you water from top of plant or the bottom in tray you can see how much water has run thru plant as drainage or if it's been absorbed thru bottom upwards. You can actually buy plastic saucers that attach to baskets from Lowes but...... I like to make stuff so I do.Plus it's recycling plastic & wire

Last year I bought 10 10inch from Amazon by way of Curtis Wagner? They would not fit most normal hanging baskets with out breaking? They were just not long enough when engaged? I called Curtis Wagner and was told their equipment wouldn't allow them to produce longer hanging drip thingies! I think I'll go with the AL pie pan idea! I already have a roll of green florist wire so why no try? I'm going to Amazon and see what AL pans made for one time use cost? I already have all colors of left over spray cans so I think it will turn out well!
