WOW! That old fan was dated. No hope for it. The new fan looks amazing. What a change. Great job and tutorial.

I SOLD SIMILAR FANS. THEY MAY WORK LOOSE AND FALL. FOR MY CUSTOMERS, I INCLUDED A FIXED THIN STAILESS STEEL CABLE THAT WENT DOWN THE UPPERMOST HOLLOW SHAFTAND SECURELY CONNECTED TO THE MOTOR's SHAFT. THE END WAS TO BE SECURELY ANCHORED TO THE BUILDING's CEILING eg. rafter, concrete etc. NOT THE ELECTRICAL OUTLET BOX. IF DROPPED, THE WEIGH OF THESE FAN MOTORS COULD KILL BUT THE SAFETY WIRE WOULD ONLY LET THE HEAVY MOTOR DROP ABOUT ONE FOOT.

BE SAFE FOR YOURSELF AND FOR FUTURE TENANTS. -- JIM
