I wanted to decorate for a luncheon using purple. I decided to make a center piece with glass jars. It was one of my early experiences with chalk paint.

I used Kerr canning jars. I painted the first coat with white chalk paint that I purchased at Michael's. Then I have them a second coat. Finally I used regular acrylic paints to decorate them

I am very happy with the results. Then I used small plants and placed them all in a Farm style tray.

I sprayed them with a polyurethane to seal.

How does the chalk paint perform compared to acrylic? What is the draw to it over the other?
