Is there a way to fix real hard wood floors that have stains?

There are different ways to handle these problems but some of the answer seems to depend on what type of stain you have. A water mark or white stain is handled differently than a dark stain. But this site has some very good info. Hope it helps.

Follow these steps to remove a stain: Sand off the old finish. Mix oxalic acid crystals (sold at home centers and paint and hardware stores) in water, following the package directions. Soak a clean white cloth in the acid mixture. Lift the cloth and check to see whether the stain has been bleached away.Hi Vicky. I'm Cindy. I would like to suggest that you make a paste with olive oil and salt. Let it set on the stain for an hour. Then wipe it up with a clean soft cloth. The salt will pull out the moisture and the olive oil will replenish the wood. Best of luck to you Vicky.
