Has anybody made their own DIY Corner Soaker Bath Tub?

We have an older large Corner Vinyl Soaker Tub that needs to be replaced . We need to remove it . My creative mind thinks there has to be a way to install something for the corner soaking tub that is unique and creative and "DIY". I would appreciate your ideas . Thanks in advance !

  • I don't know how 'out of the box' you want to go, Karen, but what about a galvanized horse trough?

We have looked at that but need something bigger and more stable.

You can install one just like a custom pour shower pan. You need to frame it, then pour one layer of lightweight concrete with proper drain slope, cover with rubberized shower pan liner, then pour a finish coat over that. Once cured, use thinset and tile, grout and seal. It's a process but it's basically the same as a swimming pool just smaller scale.

Have you done this yourself ? Do you have a website I can go to to get exact instructions and a picture ? I am a visual person. Thanks.

Karen, we've done this for a shower pan pour. I don't have a website. We found instructions on YouTube but I don't remember who. The hardest part about a shower pan is the slope.
