DIY Mini Red Truck & Buffalo Plaid Christmas Tree Ornaments

I have decided to do a farmhouse theme on my flocked Christmas Tree this year and I wanted to make some new ornaments for it.

I happen to run across a set of mini vintage looking red truck ornaments that had tiny little bottle brush tree's in the back of them and thought they were just about perfect for what I wanted.

I wanted them to have a bigger presence on my tree so I got a bag of wood shapes, and since I am using a lot of black and white buffalo plaid this year I picked up some printed scrapbook paper.

I started by tracing my shapes on the back of the scrapbook paper.

Then cut out my shapes just inside the line so they would fit the wooden shapes.

Then using modge podge I placed them onto the wooden shapes.

Then I chose to paint the edges with black craft paint.

Then I removed the mini ornaments from their packaging and I used glue to place them onto the wooden shapes.

Using jute twine I also added a hanger onto the back of each ornament for hanging.

These are exactly what I wanted.. after they were dry I hung them onto my Christmas Tree.

Love how these turned out.

I will definitely not overlook the mini ornament section

from now on.

Simple project and so cute, I am really loving the buffalo plaid

with my flocked tree thus far.

On to the next project.
