How does “Trek Deck” protect treated wood under from rotting?

Are you going over an old deck with the new Trek? It will keep rotting.
Trek is just a composite decking that requires minimal upkeep and last longer than wood. It does not "protect" anything. The treated wood underneath will rot over time.

My deck is actually timber tech not trex. One uses softwood sawdust inside the casing the other hardwood sawdust inside. I added a large patio cover also framed in brown pressure treated lumber like the retaining wall and deck frame. No staining required. Panels have foam layer inside 10 yr warranty Home Depot.
