How do I clean my glass stove top?

Hot water and a soft cotton or microfiber cloth. All my appliances are black. Wasn't my first choice, but that was what was available. Going back to white when these get retired.

You might try using paper towel or rinsing your rag very well after each swipe on the stove. I use Windex on mine and it streaks unless I use paper towel. Also, another think I found works well are the Simple Green wipes for cleaning the kitchen. I just love them for finishing my cleaning as they disinfect and deodorize too. For what you have on hand though, I really think the paper towel would solve the streaking. My stove is black too and rags make them streak. Bonnie, I hope this helps.

Microfiber! I clean my stove top well (I use the orange peel/vinegar cleaner recipe someone posted on Hometalk) and when I'm sure that all I have left is the streaks, I rub it down with a dry microfiber cloth. It has to be completely clean though, before you use the microfiber. And the microfiber has to be dry. You get good at it and it only takes a minute.

I use a half and half mixture of alcohol and water. My stove shines like it was new!

I keep a squeeze bottle of white vinegar by my sink. It looks like the same stove I have. I put the grills in the dishwasher. After using a microfiber dish cloth to clean the stove top, I squeeze a little vinegar onto the stove surface and wipe it off with paper towels. No streaks! You do need to make sure the top is clean first or the grease will cause streaks.

Barkeeper’s Friend. This stuff is amazing. It will get off cooked on food without scratching your stove top. I squirt a small stream in and around the burners, then with a paper towel, wipe with a circular motion, until all spots are loosened. Wipe with a clean wet paper towel and the dry it with another. Shiny, clean and grease free.

Try wd 40 as the finish might work

I had black appliances and loved them. Wiping your stove with your dish cloth and not immediately drying it is usually what leaves the streaks. Also, make sure that you are not using fabric softener on your cloths as this residue can leave streaks.

Hi Bonnie, I always use a paper towel or microfiber cloth to dry my black stove top after wiping it.

Straight isopropyl alcohol/rubbing alcohol on paper towel. Wipe with one cloth dry with another & like "Debi53" says no fabric softener on cleaning rags,towels also bath towels washcloths this makes them less absorbent. I know it's not glass top......Also best for eye glasses.Window/glass/mirror used with newspaper. Best for auto windshields

Definately a microfibre cloth, cheapies work great too. Just make sure its DRY. The cloth will soak up any moisture and get rid of any sreaks marks.

I clean off any debris w. a damp paper towel, then use Fantastic spray & spread w. clean, damp scouring pad (for non-stick surfaces). Wipe off w. clean,dry paper towel. Can finish w. clean micro-cloth. Make sure your don't spray the flame openings of gas stove. Alice T. Canada

I have a white glass top with enameled cast iron grills. I put the knobs in the dishwasher, the grills in the DW unless they look burned. At that point I spray them with easy off and stick them in the oven until I get around to cleaning them. This might take a couple of days or overnight, lol. They can go in the DW to rinse off the yuck, or you can just rinse them with hot water and put them back. I usually just wipe the glass top off with hot water using a microfiber cloth, works great. If lots of grease, hot soapy water also works, or any spray cleaner. For stubborn spots (and white really shows) I will scrub them with baking soda, a gentle prod with a butter knife will usually take care of the rest.
