When do I prune my apple tree?
I grew up in an orchard where we pruned trees every spring. But I wondered about doing it in the fall instead because spring is so busy a time for us, and its just the one tree.

Spring is busy for everyone, and since you only have one tree, surely you have an hour to spend pruning it properly in late winter. Problem with fall pruning is that it invites pests and the cold can damage the tree since it does not have time to heal.
