Moss Filled Chicken Wire Planters on Pallet Wood

I wanted to add some container planters to my small yard. Moss filled chicken wire planters was what I had in mind. I knew I needed to attached the chicken wire to something to hold it in place. Pallet wood seemed like a good enough option for a mounting surface.
I imagined them filled with pretty flowers hanging around the yard, giving my yard a little more elegance than it probably deserves.
I figured that the rusticness of pallet wood would probably keep the elegance factor down a bit.
I started with a pile of pallet wood and some chicken wire.
I gave the pallet wood pieces a few coats of a vinegar and canola oil mixture. A recipe that I found on Hometalk from Kris Cole. She used it to repair old beat up furniture, so I thought I would give it a try on these unfinished wood pieces....and it worked out perfectly. Brings out just enough of the wood color.
Next, I cut a piece of chicken wire in a triangular shape.

Formed a cone shape with the chicken wire.

I stapled it to the pallet wood piece, and then added a wire hanger.

Once I was done, I added moss, dirt and trailing plants and flowers.
