I’d suggest watering down your white latex or chalk paint by half. Use a cheap brush because painting on the brick will ruin the brush. Have some rags ready. Then just brush the thinned out paint onto the brick liberally, and use a rag to remove any excess. You can wipe off a lot or a little, depending on the look you want to achieve.
