What about LED lights? They take an amazing amount of voltage fluctuations, they are dimmable and specialty types are growing in choices.

Fluorescents do not dim easily, nor do they handle big voltage changes.

I bought 12v tracklight LEDs for my 24V System & they were half the price and work just fine.

Mar, don't know what your question is, but I can tell you that I have replaced all of my lights inside and out with LEDs. Not only do they look lighter and brighter, but the last a long, long time and are much cheaper to run. I especially love the "soft white" lights in lamps ,,,,, so much easier to read with them and they give the room a nice, bright (not yellow) glow.

If you have strips of led lights, then these can be fixed along skirting boards or dado rails to give you mood or safety lighting.

They also look good around pictures and mirrors.
