I just run mine thru the dishwasher.
Hi Marilyn, you can take the filter out and soak it in hot soapy water to degrease it, rinse thoroughly and dry then put it back in
Soak in very hot water, with Dawn dish detergent. It may take a few hours. Dry, and don't forget to reset cleaning reminder on hood, if you have that feature.
In the dishwasher, on the top shelf with your glasses.
And on a regular basis! Tie it into something else you do on a regular basis, like writing your house payment or rent check. Write the check, change the a/c filters and put the hood fan filter in the dishwasher!
