You can put a canvas on them first, they sell at menards. It goes on like wall paper. Then I wall papered with paintable wall paper .It came out really good.Wish I could show you pics but we sold the houses I did this in.The canvas will bridge the ridges in the paneling Hope this helps

our house is full of it,it's so dark. I've started to do room by room, primer with Zinsser then paint some lighter colors over.Tried primer/paint in one room it was alot more $ and the coverage was not good so went back to the Zinsser first then paint The paneling is so old and dry it just sucked up the primer/paint. much cheaper painting than doing any other option. It actually is looking pretty good. Also scraping off popcorn ceilings in each room. Every room looks so much brighter, cleaner more modern.

Hi Linda. I'm Cindy. You could hang a picture over it. Make a wall gallery and nobody would ever know the wall panel is there. I suggest using a command hook rather than a nail to hang it from. Safety first. Good luck Linda.

Your best bet would be to remove it or to paint it. White painted paneling can look great.
