It depends upon what type of plants. Some naturally "rest" during the winter months. You can always force them to bloom, but that's unnatural and eventually weakens the plant.

Miracle Grow water soluble plant fertilizer. Also depends on where you live some plants just don't bloom all year round.Make sure you remove dead or dying flowers they take energy from new buds & flowers this is called deadheading.

Look up your various plants and flowers and make sure you take care to change watering and fertilizing habits in the winter if it is called for. Fertilize with miracle grow, it really makes most plants really beautiful, follow the directions so that you don't over fertilize and harm the plant. Make sure you give your plants enough light so that they perform the way they are supposed to.
