DIY A Simple Poofy Ribbon Christmas Tree Topper With Big Impact

I chose to add a poofy ribbon tree topper to my Christmas tree this year and thought I would share just how I do it.

It really is a simple project to do, it takes very little time, and is relatively inexpensive depending on what you choose to use, and it certainly adds a fun decorator touch with big impact to the top of your tree.

I chose to use a wired sheer silver ribbon that is 2" wide, and of course I needed a pair of scissors. icon

(*the ribbon needs to be wired ribbon for this project)

I started by unrolling the ribbon, and cutting approximately 3 foot sections, and then I simply placed them into a "W" shape on the floor.

Then I gathered the ribbon up at the bottom of the "W",

(it doesn't need to be perfectly even)

Pinching it together in my hands.

then I simply take the ribbon where I am holding it and tuck that end

into the top section of my Christmas tree wherever I want to add in some fullness.

It is important to use wired ribbon so the ribbon will hold it's shape and it is easy to adjust it when needed.

Then I just repeat the same process until I feel like I have just the right amount of ribbon poof at the top of my tree.

I also added in some silver glittery spiral picks to add even more dimension and they both look so pretty with my silver wire Star that I chose to use as well.

You could add in a variety of different picks, fun ribbon combinations, and could also cut the ribbon ends differently. (which I will probably be doing)

My tree is still a work in progress but I wanted to share how relatively simple it is to add a big impact to the top of your tree.
