Can you paint formica?

A formica surface can be painted successfully as long as you prepare the surface beforehand. The surface needs to be cleaned thoroughly first to remove as much dirt and stains as possible.

Yes !!! I painted my Formica countertops !!! I lightly sanded it , then used a primer and then paint. I would also coat it with a sealer to protect it , I didn't do this on my countertops because it wasn't food safe .

It is super easy to paint Formica with Dixie Belle.

Step one: Clean with White Lightning

Step two: Apply two coats of Slick Stick

Step three: Paint one to two coats of Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint

Step four: Use Gator Hide for a water resistant finish
