How do I cover my screened in porch for 4 seasons?

It's a straight run of 19'6". Looking maybe for sliders or french doors. I've had estimates of 10-12 thousand, I ask if that was with solid gold?

William, Check out Home Advisor, or Angie's List for estimates on the job. You can get several prices, and you could have them come to your home for an estimate. Aloha!

  • That is a fair price for the work involved. Is the porch on a raised foundation or on a slab? Chances are, it will not bear the weight of construction which means they have to beef up existing foundation or remove and start over - hence the cost. (Provided it is legal to do so in your area.) This "job" requires pulling permits and conducting inspections to meet current building codes. Since you are adding square footage, your property tax and insurance will increase slightly too. In short, according to building codes, this is a room addition, no matter how small.
