How can I lighten dark vinyl strip flooring?

Could I cover it with carpet?

      Thanks - all the carpet people say it has to be removed which naturally is more money for them. Have to find one that says the easiest the best.

    I don't know about lightening vinyl without damage, but using anti skid backing, you could certainly use carpeting, unless this is in an area with water exposure.

      Thanks I kind of thought that but carpet companies want the extra money for removing it.

    Hi, Owna,

    Would you consider a large area rug? You could even find a large "remnant" and have it "bound" That way, you could purchase your own anti skid material, or simply try adhering it to the vinyl.

    I wonder if foam rug padding would create enough grip against the vinyl so the rug couldn't move?

    Owna, if you are physically able it is not difficult to ake up vinyl strip flooring unless it has been glued down. Most just snap together and once you get a few pieces loose they come up quite easily,
