    Make up a box with boards at least 1/2 inch thick to the depth you require, the length and width you need. Screw in the corners to make them more sturdy. Raised beds tend to dry out quickly so you can add a plastic liner, punch in a few small holes in the bottom and then fill with a mix of good compost, which you can buy in the bag, and good quality soil, preferably potting soil. Due to the depth of the planter, you can fill in a lot of the space with aluminum cans. Put a bit of drainage gravel in the very bottom. Your measurements are a bit ambiguous so not sure how long you require which will make a difference to the actual construction. If the box is extra long then you will require 2X4s in the corners and along the sides to add strength so it does not buckle with the moisture.
