Did your trees sustain salt damage from road trucks, last winter?
Did your area suffer from drought?
Was your lawn "limed" too close to the tree? Was it sprayed with Round Up or similar (even "drift" can harm tree).
Were roots clipped by utility companies accessing sewer piping?
