I don’t have a dentures, but did have a false tooth for awhile. Polident recommended for cleaning it, but it never got stained. I just brushed it with toothpaste. However, water rinsing your dentures after eating or tea/coffee may help.??
Hi ! So funny you asked this , my husband was just talking about this last night ! I have been buying tablets to soak his dentures for years.
i recently noticed he wasn't using them , so I asked him why.. I thought maybe he didn't like the brand i bought , I usually buy whatever is on sale at the time . He said he has been not only fine without the cleaning tablets , but they seem actually cleaner without them ! He just soaks them overnight then brushes them in the morning ! He remembers this rather telling his mother this year's ago, so he gave it a try .
Thanks for the advice. I use the tablets but also use toothpaste every morning to brush. My teeth feel clean, but it seems like the inside of my upper plate looks a little dark in places. I only drink 1 cup of coffee per day. I also rinse after eating.
It's not advisable to use tooth paste, as it actually has little pieces of plastic. They do make a product called Fresh and Bright esp' made for dentures.
I stopped using the tablets, good ones or cheap ones, when I saw that the foam always just floated on the top. I hope this helps.
PS: I put an eye dropper drip or two of peroxide in my water at night. That helps. Some use bleach, too.
I did add peroxide at one point. And I seriously considered using bleach, too. I am a confirmed bleach user. I'm old and use the old rules. Haha. But I really am old!
I used to work at a dental lab (one of many lab jobs) and the technician used this to clean. If the dentures are stained used a paste of baking soda. Rinse thoroughly.

That is a good solution, too. Baking soda and vinegar will clean most anything.
