How do I clean my sofa?

a soffa that has shiny areas due to sweaty people staying overnight and it being very warm overnight i am in the uk . home made methods i prefere. thank you

What material is your sofa made from?
* First , always try a cleaner in a small unseen area in case it causes discoloration .!!!!!!!!
if it is a leather couch, try magic eraser, I have a light fan leather side and it works great , (but the leather is not shiny)
If it is material, try Folex , it is really a carpet cleaner, but I had it on fabric all the time , it gets out all types of stains...I Even keep some in a spray bottle in my laundry room !
also I would invest in a throw cover for your sofa. I actually just bought one for my new sofa , just to protect when we sit on it while eating , or having buttered popcorn ... I bought a futon cover because I didn't want the hassle of it fitting over the arm area , just wanted the seat and back area, it also is easy and quick to just throw it over the sofa , they cost under $ 25 .
