Try Barbasol shaving cream, and thing cheap and non colored .the lanolin pulls the dirt. Let is sit a while after applying then wipe clean. Its also great to clean car Upholstery
I was prepared to throw my couch out and get a new one because of the water spots that were left after cleaning it. Instead I noticed the cushions were zippered, so I removed them. It took a leap of faith but I threw them in the washing machine with detergent and washed in warm water. I hung them to dry and put them back on. The couch looked like brand new.
