Barb: Cozy is in the eye and spirit of the beholder. But cozy rooms often have quality throws, many pillows, an uncluttered look and good lighting.
I find that lots of textures and candles add a warm and cozy feel. By textures, I mean throw pillows, blankets, and such.
I just purchased a cream colored shag rug, 5X8 and it adds so much coziness to the room!

Natural wood trim or cladding on walls can add coziness. Also soft warm colors can add to the feeling.
