I have been interested in doing things with antique linens. I have made aprons and shadow boxes and today I tried a jacket.

I chose the one I liked to start with and I ordered a pattern of a plain jacket. I layed it out so that the bottom and front were in the finished edge of the lace. I layed the back out of the center circle.

The pattern called for a lining but I wanted it to be open so I didn't line it. I modified the pattern so I could use the finished edges. I had to do no hems.

It went together very nicely. Not too hard if you have basic sewing skills

I can't wait to wear it to church tomorrow

This had given me confidence to try it again
