Dresser Makeover With Appliance Handles!

This dresser makeover had my jaw dropping when we got it done. I couldn’t believe it!

I see these kinds of dressers all the time and I never look at them twice. I just feel like there isn’t much you can do with them and since they don’t have a ton of detail, they are kind of boring. Then, while out on one of my hunting trips, I saw this one at the thrift store and for some reason I walked over to it and starting thinking. I told myself I had to stop looking at it for what it was and start looking at its possibilities (the motto I preach about all the time!).

I decided to bring this one home to see what I could do with it. The first thing I had to do was fix the missing pieces of veneer it had all around. I used my favorite product for this kind of job: {aff} Dixie Belle Paint Mud. This stuff is so easy to work with and it makes light work of furniture pieces like this.

After the Mud dried, I sanded down the entire dresser. There was only one drawer that did not have any missing veneer so I decided to sand down that drawer and stain it.

The rest of the dresser was getting painting in {aff} Drop Cloth by Dixie Belle Paint. I used one of my favorite primers before I painted on the dresser that ensures there won't be any bleed through the paint. You can read all about that in my blog post about this project.

I used my HomeRight sprayer to paint this dresser. It was done in no time.

Once the paint and the stain were dry, we added the appliance hardware from Hickory Hardware to the drawers. The hardware made this dresser and entirely different piece!!!
