How should I select plants for an indoor fairy garden?

I would like to make a fairt garden that my 8 year old granddaughter can tend, but I have no clue asto best plants to use that are hardy indoors

Debbie: use little succulents... they can be neglected a bit with no harm... eight year olds may forget to maintain.
