They sell wallpaper seam sealer.
Moisten the paper as before but only work on the lining paper first, glue the edges as you had done previously and leave for 15-20 minutes to go tacky then use a wallpaper seam roller to stick the edges in place and leave to dry until the next day and then do the same to the wallpaper.
Another tip would be to use decorators caulk applied along the seam and rolled into position from either side of the seam to expel the excess caulk then wipe over with a damp sponge.
Sandra,. First, dry the edges, with a hair dryer on low, real quick. I'd Google "best glue for vinyl wall paper". This may even have a video. Reapply, and smooth out with a dry rag or wash cloth. Aloha!
