Find a new fixture long enough to go over your mirrors. Everything is there, just replace. May also want to change out the mirrors.

Replace the fixture with a new one. Shop around and find what you like.

With the exception of the swagged chains, I think they're kinda cool. I would have an electrician install a ceiling fixture box over each mirror, then separate them to hang individually as pendant lights.

Not sure what you mean other than replace it with something up to date.

Just remember, everything old comes back again. Antique brass is hot again. Sometimes changing things around it might change the look. (Or sell it and get what you want, lol)

I would try to change chains and make very nice wood beads chains in colours you like for example pastell colours.

And if you want, you could paint the mirror frames in one of these colours, or leave it if you like it. I wouldn't change the lamps, though.

@someothercommenters: if she would like to replace it, she didn't ask for ideas.

Sorry for my english, not native english speaker

Judy, I had the same setup, only I had globe lights. Buy 2 new medicine cabinets and purchase lights for over the top of the mirrors. The cabinet cost about $$120. Lighting $$100, about $500 in all. What a beautiful bathroom this change made. Aloha!

You can probably find a track light with led lights that will extend over both medicine cabinets. An electrician can gang the existing fixture box and install 2 separate boxes over the cabinets so you could have 3 lights. If it is just the color, you can paint the metal. I don.t think it looks bad the way it is.

I would spray paint the light fixture chain, base, etc., with black (or any color you want). Keep the globes if they are not chipped. See if a thrift store has any matching ornate picture frames that will fit the existing med cabinets. Spray the original wood frames the same black and the new frames you found, or you bought new. I would drill pilot holes and then use screws to attach the frames to keep the frames from coming loose when open/closed often. Since your fixtures are chrome, maybe get some silver colored "rubbing paste" to add to the black chain and frames. Keep your eye out for bathroom accessories at the thrift store that you can spray to match, silver and black. This idea is the cheaper version.

We were on a tight budget so we just took them down, took off the globes and spray painted the chains/cord white. Put them back together, hung them up, and because they were the same color as the ceiling they looked MUCH better. Nice and fresh, too! Maybe not the BEST answer - but certainly the CHEAPEST one. (Note: Dust those chains first!)

Don't know how you themed your home but industrial is in. The sink fixture looks silver, spray any parts to match that. Upcycle silver shelves above mirrors or beside. Use color from shower curtain around mirrors. Or wrap chain with rope or fabric...rope and go nautical or fiber and go boho (wrap center outlet of chain in same) nautical theme sand and whitewash mirror frame, boho, go crazy..paint or glue sparkle or fabric etc. Around.
