I live in a high-end condo. I’m having my entire condo gutted & remodeled. I’m noting as the baths & kitchen are being torn down; stuff is accumulating on mylarge lanai. Mylanai is the largest in the building; so everyone can look down & see this junkpile! I know the reason he is-not using his men ( debris removal) is because he pays them big-bucks to do our remodel job. So, by himself, piecemeal; once a week he removes a few pieces of junk ( not the large appliances nor tubs & sink). Yesterday, a neighbor upstairs complained. I’m so embarrassed. Myhusband is a war vet & doesn't speak up, so it’s all left in me. Is there a standard Condo-Rule saying you must remove debris? And, how often; everyday;every week? I can understand leaving required tiles onlanai for job; but a junkyard of appliances & tubs? What does a lady do??

What are your condo rules? Just request that the contractor clean up daily. At a stand alone house, they would rent a construction dumpster - different when you live in a condo.
To the lady that complained, it's none of her business. Just tell her politely but firmly that your are remodeling and the mess is just temporary. It will all go away once construction is complete.
Your H.O.A. most likely addresses the issue of visible debris, so check your purchase agreement.
You also should have had a written contract from your contractor, with this issue clearly addressed "debris to be removed daily and area swept daily of all dust".
If you have no written statement in your contract, your H.O.A. can force you to remove it yourself, or secure another to do it for you.
If you can't get the contractor to comply, you may need to fire him and start over, because the cost to hire people to clean up and the cost of a dumpster can be very expensive. Otherwise, failure to remove the debris could risk you being fined by your H.O.A.
Do we get fined ; or does the contractor get fined. He needs to abide by our laws as he renovated!
If you hired the contractor, you're most likely on the hook for fines. Had the Condo association hired him, it would be their responsibility.
Anything that's in public view of others means they can complain to the association.
It's hard to believe that your condo associations' bylaws didn't address this in the original purchasing agreement.

Have the condo association give you a copy of the policy and the complaint. Tell the contractor that you will deduct any fines from the final bill if the appliances and other things aren't removed wishing the time stated in the policy. Contractors live by the satisfaction of their clients and good reviews, he will not want to see a bad review due to this problem being seen by the people looking for good contractors. Paying his employees big money has nothing to do with accumulating junk. On their way out they can grab some and put it in the bosses truck to be taken away each day, it won't add but a couple of minutes to their work time and should be a part of the total price of the renovation of your condo.
